How to know a store is legit

Legal cannabis always traces back to a province's authorized list. Before you buy, especially online, run through this.

Check the province's official retailer list. Every province publishes the stores and sites it has licensed. If a shop isn't on it, it isn't legal there, full stop.
Look for an excise stamp. Legal packaged cannabis carries a province-specific excise stamp. No stamp is a red flag.
Expect ID and age checks. Legal retailers verify you're of age, every time, in store and at delivery.
Be wary of "too good" deals and no testing. Prices far below the market, no lab results, and no package labelling point to the grey market.
Online? The site should be a province store or a licensed retailer. Mail-order from random sites is usually unlicensed, see buying cannabis online.
